Yum. The food was so good. get the guauamola. Very fresh. The chips are so so good. I had some tacos. all good with this one

Me and my friend went for restaurant week and were BLOWN AWAY!! The prices for this beautiful three course dinner were phenomenal. Our waitress Marlene was amazing, she went above and beyond to make our meal even more special. Every plate that came out was beautiful, and we were so excited to get each one. We were filled with chips the moment we ran out, and our waitress noticed which one we liked best and brought a bigger bowl for us. PS the horchata was only five dollars but they gave it to us for free! We will be coming back

We were in the area for lunch, and decided to come to Agave. Fairly empty on a weekend, so we got seated right away. Service was really friendly! They start you out with some free chips and salsa, and they were great. Super crisp, and taste fresh. Free refills as well. I got the mole, and it was good! Rich in flavor, and the chicken was super tender and moist. The mole was a bit sweeter than I would have wanted, but overall was great. We also got the steak ranchero, and it was great. Steak was tender, lots of well seasoned veggies, and overall delicious. Definitely a great spot to stop by for a lunch visit!

As someone whose family runs Mexican restaurants, I'm basically borderline impossible to impress. Enter Agave--a spot that, at first glance, seemed a little... locationally challenged. From the moment we sat down, the vibes were immaculate. It feels upscale and cozy but also like the place the Mexicans want to keep secret from the gringos. Our waitress, Karla, was ON IT --attentive, kind, and appeared almost telepathic when it came to knowing when we needed something. We kicked things off with some mezcal cocktails that could probably solve global crises if given the chance. Then came the food, and let me tell you, every single bite was a 10/10 experience. The salsas? Flavor bombs. The beans? So perfect I had to strong-arm my fiancée into trying them (and she doesn't even like beans). We indulged in cocktails, appetizers, mains, and dessert--and the bill came out to $100. Honestly, I felt like we were committing mild theft with how good the value was. Agave isn't just a restaurant; it's a rare gem where you get top-notch food, stellar service, and a vibe that feels both upscale and down-to-earth--all without needing to sell a kidney to cover the bill. Thank you, Agave. I'll be back, i already texted my whole family telling them they need to go

A very solid 4 stars! We were going to be in the area and had a Mexican craving, so to the trusty Yelp machine I went, and it delivered in spades! Great atmosphere, warm service, with fresh ingredients in the food and drinks is a winning combo every time, and I can't wait to go back again when we're nearby. Fresh chips are served with two mild salsas. I tried the prickly pear mezcal cocktail and the enmoladas mole entree -- their version of an enchilada. Taylor had a giant burrito, and I think the only thing that could've taken it to the next level would have been served "wet style" like he usually does.

I was passing by Healdsburg on a Thursday afternoon and stopped in town at Agave for lunch. Located in a bustling shopping center, Agave was a cool refuge from the blasting summer heat outside. The restaurant had a casual, relaxed vibe; a couple tables had friends chatting over chips, food, and drinks. The waitress sat me down at a table and soon brought me chips on the house to start. I ordered camarones a la diabla. "It's spicy, is that okay?" the waitress said. I told her, "Yes." The food soon arrived steaming hot, so I continued to make my way through the chips and salsa while my entree cooled. The chips were crunchy and lightly salted, and I liked the contrasts between the smoky red salsa and the zesty green salsa. Finally, I was eager to dig into my lunch. I packed some shrimp, vegetables, rice, and beans onto a flour tortilla and took a bite. True to its name, the camarones a la diabla packed heat! Fires tore through my mouth and danced on my tongue. The shrimp was juicy, and the bell peppers soft. The chili pepper added smoky overtones and flourishes. I was glad for the soothing rice and beans to balance out the heat. I took my time and appreciated each bite. This was a delicious bit of Oaxacan cuisine, and I enjoyed the food which was prepared with deft, finesse, and of course, love.

Calling themselves "The Best Oaxacan Cuisine in Sonoma County", they certainly set themselves apart from the many other typical Mexican restaurants and taco trucks. Located in a strip mall near Safeway with a view of the parking lot about 3 blocks west of the Plaza, they have a cute outdoor patio with umbrellas and plants and indoors features a new redwood bar. We choose to sit outside since it was cooler than inside on a summer night (only fans inside). Service was fast and friendly. The complimentary homemade chips with red and green salsa were a nice touch. We got the house margarita which had a rim of flavored spices and packed a kick. I ordered the Enmoladas, the closest to a chicken enchilada. It came with two tortillas filled with braised chicken topped with Mole de Oaxaca (sweet mole sauce), queso fresco, black beans, rice ($19). It was really great, tender and mouth watering, similar to other Oaxacan I've had in SoCal. Husband had the Camarones a la Diabla, which were large prawns in housemade diabla sauce, onions, bell peppers, rice, black beans, and tortillas ($21). He said they were pretty good but wasn't wowed by them. We were hurrying to a show at Coyote Sonoma across the street so didn't have time to hang out, but the restaurant was packed and many people were lingering and having a great time. The chef is well known in the area for his creative dishes and it showed. We will be back!

Delicious Oaxacan Food in Healdsburg Agave is a family-owned Mexican restaurant and tequila bar in Healdsburg, CA, which we tried for the first time during our last visit. It is located in the Vineyard Plaza shopping center and offers an authentic taste of Oaxacan cuisine. The restaurant is known for its warm atmosphere, attentive service, and a menu that highlights traditional dishes with a contemporary twist. One of the key attractions at Agave is their Mole Negro, which we did not try this time. We opted to start with a Guacamole Botana (Spanish for appetizer) and a couple of drinks. For the main dishes, we ordered the Carnitas plate and one of the special soups on the menu that day (I forgot the name). They were both delicious and flavorful. The drink menu is equally impressive. They offer a wide selection of mezcals and tequilas. Their margaritas are a local favorite, so I went with one and was not disappointed. Additionally, the restaurant offers a good selection of local wines and beers that complement their food offerings. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Our server was so helpful, her wonderful hospitality really enhanced our experience. Although we sat outside, I went in to take a look inside. The setting is both cozy and lively, making it a great choice for both casual lunches and festive dinners. I really liked the decoration. It is very colorful and enjoyable. Overall, Agave offered us a pleasant dining experience with its authentic cuisine, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. If you are in Healdsburg, it is definitely worth a visit. We know we will be back there again!
